What to Write in an Anniversary Card

What to Write in an Anniversary Card

Sometimes the most challenging cards to write are the ones for the people you love the most. Writing an anniversary card is at the top of this list, especially if you've been together a long time! It's easy to overthink it, so just follow this simple formula to write the perfect anniversary card., and your S.O will be weeping over how much they love you.

Use a term of endearment
Babe? Honey? Stud muffin? Whatever you call your #1 is what you should use to start out this card.

Reflect on the time that's passed.
Has it been a month? A year? 10 years?! However long it's been, it's a good time to look back and reflect on the special moments you've had together along the way.

Talk about the future.
Let them know how excited you are for another month, year, 10 years... whatever it is! If you have plans (marriage, a home, kids?!) mention how much you look forward to these adventures together.

Let them know how much you mean to them.
You don't need to get overly sappy, but anyone would love to hear how important you are to them. If you're stuck, a simple "I can't imagine my life without you" should do the trick.

Pick a favorite quality of theirs.
Everyone loves a compliment. List a few of the reasons you love them — bonus points if you mix in everything from physical attributes to personality traits to specific memories.

Close with celebration.
Even if it's just pizza and a movie on the couch, it's still a celebration. Let them know you can't wait to spend this day with them, no matter what.
