A Partnership with Cards for Hospitalized Kids

A Partnership with Cards for Hospitalized Kids

We celebrate the end of every quarter by sending cards off to our social mission partners. In 2019, we sent handwritten notes of encouragement to women newly diagnosed with breast cancer, we wrote cards to seniors who needed a little support and we said thanks to military members serving around the world.

Now, we're excited to announce our first partnership of 2020: Cards For Hospitalized Kids. From January through March, for every new Part & Parcel subscription we’ll send a handwritten card to hospitalized kids across America. This amazing organization will help facilitate the delivery, making sure each letter gets into the hands of a kiddo who could use that extra pick-me-up.

The organization is helmed by Jen Rubino, who first got the idea as a worried 11-year-old recovering from surgery. While sitting in her hospital room, she received a card from a stranger that lifted her spirits and later inspired her to reach out to thousands of other hospitalized children.

In March 2011, Rubino and her friends began making cards to distribute to sick children in local hospitals. That September she founded Cards for Hospitalized Kids and so far the organization has sent cards to more than 14,000 kids in more than 150 hospitals and Ronald McDonald Houses nationwide.

We’re thrilled to be working with Cards for Hospitalized Kids to send support to kids who need it, and we hope you’ll join us in supporting this wonderful organization.
